I’m Genoveva Graciela Ernawati, but everyone calls me Erna. I was born and raised in Solo (Surakarta), Indonesia, where my love for cooking began at an early age and grew through culinary school.

My culinary journey has taken me from Indonesia to Timor-Leste, Africa, and eventually to Stockholm, Sweden. Along the way, I’ve gained experience managing kitchens and developing recipes while staying true to the authentic flavors of Indonesian home cooking.

In 2026, Erna’s Bistro celebrates 16 years of sharing authentic Indonesian flavors in Sweden.

Every dish at Erna’s is made with dedication, experience, and love—because behind every flavor, there is a story.

Beyond cooking, I have a deep love for photography, especially capturing food, people, places, and moments that tell a story. One of my dreams is to combine these two passions in a book celebrating Indonesia’s rich culinary heritage.
