I’m Genoveva Graciela Ernawati, usually called Erna, born in Solo (Surakarta), about 500 km from Jakarta, Indonesia.

My passion for cooking began in elementary school and continued at a vocational culinary school, where I studied the art of cooking and kitchen management.

After graduation, I spent years working, learning, and refining each flavor—much like home cooking that slowly finds its harmony.

Behind my dishes is a story of patience, practice, and a love for simple, honest ingredients.

Erna’s Bistro wasn’t shaped by a quick idea, but by time, care, and respect for traditional recipes.

My culinary journey took me from Indonesia to Timor Leste, Africa, and finally to Stockholm, Sweden, where I gained experience running and managing restaurants along the way.

In 2026, Erna’s Bistro celebrates 16 years of sharing authentic Indonesian flavors in Sweden.

Every dish I serve reflects dedication, patience, and love—because behind Erna’s, every flavor has a story.

Beyond cooking, I love photography, and one day I hope to combine it with my recipes in a book celebrating Indonesian culinary heritage.
